Admatis Ltd. has successfully developed the first generation of its passive navigation Markers for Clean Space activities over more than 5 years and through 4 ESA-financed projects (PEMSUN, MSN, MSN-FD, MSN-Q). These Markers are initially being integrated onto the satellites of the HPCM missions, and as an important part of the Design for Removal (D4R) initiative, they are expected to be standardized, making them likely candidates for future missions as well.
On 15 July 2025, the first significant industrial deliveries were completed, supplying 88 pieces of 2D Markers and 6 pieces of 3D Markers for Airbus CRISTAL and LSTM satellites.
This is a notable milestone, as space industry components are typically custom-made in limited quantities. In contrast, this manufacturing volume already represents a step toward serialization in the field of space engineering. The significance for Admatis is further underscored by the fact that the Markers are mounted on the outermost, most visible surfaces of the satellites. Unlike other external components -such as MLI insulation- that degrade over time in orbit, the Markers will retain their appearance, permanently showcasing the contribution of our company.
